Imagine Port Wentworth Community Academy Update

Board Members Present to the Georgia Charter School Commission

 Robert Henderson and Vince Hogan did an excellent job representing the Port Wentworth  community before the Georgia Charter School Commission interview team November 5th. They were well prepared and spoke passionately about the need for our new school and of the importance of the relationship with Imagine Schools. They worked hard to prepare and delivered the message with sincerity and competence. A copy of the handout they provided to the interview team can be found here Presentation Handout 11_5 .

 While Robert and Vince did well presenting, we don’t know what the interview team will recommend to the commission. They too were well prepared and asked some good questions. They were tough, but fair. We owe them some information and they require that Imagine make some changes in the Operating Agreement, which we are working on. They also want the IPWCA board to approve its by-laws and execute the Operating Agreement with Imagine before they make a recommendation. These materials must be in to them by November 29. The Commission will vote on the application in their December 16 meeting (10 am in Atlanta).

 Your board members accomplished a lot yesterday. We are excited to finalize preparations for December 16.
